Key Points
- Valour, a subsidiary of DeFi Technologies, has launched the first short spot Bitcoin ETP in the Nordics.
- The product, Valour Short Bitcoin (SBTC), is designed to inversely track Bitcoin price movements.
Valour, a cryptocurrency firm and a part of DeFi Technologies, has unveiled the Nordics’ first short spot exchange-traded product (ETP) for Bitcoin (BTC).
This new financial market includes countries like Denmark, Norway, Sweden, and Finland.
Introducing a New Standard
On April 18, 2024, Valour made an announcement about the launch of their new investment product, Valour Short Bitcoin (SBTC).
This product will be traded under the same name against the Swedish Krona.
The aim of this ETP launch is to provide the Nordics with indirect exposure to the digital asset market.
It allows them to profit from or hedge against declines in Bitcoin’s price.
The SBTC is designed to inversely track BTC price movements. This means that the value of SBTC rises when the price of Bitcoin decreases, and vice versa.
Valour built this product with experienced investors in mind and the flexibility to make timely adjustments to portfolios based on daily market performance.
The blockchain firm is setting a new standard for investment products in the Nordic region by being the first to introduce the SBTC into the market.
Offering High Transparency
Johanna Belitz, Valour’s head of sales in the Nordics, expressed her confidence in the product’s appeal to investors in the area.
She described the product as being tailored for short-term strategic use, such as hedging existing portfolios.
The company views the launch of the new ETP product as a significant milestone in the availability of diverse financial products in the Nordic markets.
SBTC is designed to offer high transparency, security, and reliability to both retail and institutional investors.
Access to Fully Hedged Digital Asset ETPs
In addition to SBTC, Valour offers other fully hedged digital asset ETPs with competitive management fees to ensure accessibility for a wide range of investors.
These products cater to investors seeking exposure to various digital assets while minimizing costs.
Valour’s product range extends across European exchanges, banks, and broker platforms, providing convenient access to the crypto market.
The company’s offerings include Uniswap (UNI), Cardano (ADA), Polkadot (DOT), Solana (SOL), Avalanche (AVAX), Cosmos (ATOM), Binance (BNB), XRP, Enjin (ENJ) and Bitcoin Carbon Neutral (BTCN).
Valour’s flagship products, Bitcoin Zero and Ethereum Zero, are the first fully hedged, passive investment products based on Bitcoin and Ethereum, respectively.
Unlike other ETP products, these flagship offerings have no management fees, making them attractive options for investors seeking fee-free exposure to these digital assets.
