Bitget, a top-tier Universal Exchange (UEX), has officially announced its support for the inaugural global UNICEF Game Jam. This virtual hackathon invites youths from eight countries to create original video games over a span of 40 days.
This initiative is a part of Bitget’s collaboration with UNICEF’s Game Changers Coalition and is a testament to CEO Gracy Chen’s unwavering commitment to using blockchain technology as a catalyst for education, empowerment, and opportunity.
Empowering Youth through Blockchain
Gracy, a highly influential female figure in the crypto industry and a nominee for the Top 50 Women in Web3 & AI, perceives the hackathon as more than a creative platform. It is a gateway for young individuals, particularly girls in developing economies, to acquire Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics (STEAM) skills.
According to her, blockchain and Web3 can be instrumental in breaking poverty cycles by providing young people with the means to venture into entrepreneurship, innovation, and financial independence.
As a strategic partner of the UNICEF Game Changers Coalition, led by the UNICEF Office of Innovation, Bitget Academy, Bitget’s educational division, will contribute to the development of UNICEF’s first interactive blockchain training module. This module, both online and in-person, is based on video game creation skills development.
Bitget’s Broader Commitment
Bitget’s support is expected to benefit 300,000 individuals, including adolescent girls, parents, mentors, and teachers across eight countries, by equipping them with blockchain skills.
The company’s commitment goes beyond education. Bitget has launched its Lady Forward campaign, which includes university partnerships, new internship programs, and the initiation of a Female Leaders Program. This program aims to connect women across the blockchain ecosystem, including developers, investors, entrepreneurs, and policymakers.
Gracy’s advocacy is further strengthened by her role as a guest professor at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST). Here, she delivers a blockchain course designed for finance and mathematics students, combining academic rigor with real-world applications and insights from top industry leaders.
As Bitget enters its “Lady Forward” era with Blockchain4Her, the company is championing inclusion through its collaboration with UNICEF. This partnership is a part of Bitget’s broader commitment to connect blockchain and Web3 technologies with initiatives that drive meaningful change. This includes expanding digital access, promoting creative learning, and providing young people in developing regions with the tools to succeed in the future global economy.
