NCR Corporation, an enterprise technology provider, has agreed to purchase the Bitcoin ATM company LibertyX.
According to an announcement made Monday by NCR, depending on regulatory licensing consents and approvals, the acquisition is expected to be done later this year.

NCR Corporation said it will take advantage of LibertyX’s capabilities in solutions for banks, retailers, and restaurants. That also implies crypto withdrawals, purchasing, and payment features could be coming soon for NCR clients.
“Our customers require a complete digital currency solution, including the ability to buy and sell cryptocurrency, conduct cross-border remittance and accept digital currency payments across digital and physical channels,”Tim Vanderham, chief technology officer of NCR told the media.
LibertyX has launched one of the first retail Bitcoin ATMs, assisting users not only to make purchases with crypto at a variety of retailers in the United States using its mobile app, but also through its network of Bitcoin (BTC) ATMs.
The firm currently is serving 9,500 crypto ATMs at 20,000 retail stores in the United States.
CoinATMRadar’s data shows that there are currently more than 24,481 crypto ATMs across the world and the market continues to grow in 2021.
A Wide Network for Bitcoin
One of the largest holders of the Bitcoin ATM network, Bitcoin Depot has partnered with convenience store Circle K to expand its service as more than 700 Bitcoin ATMs in the U.S. and Canada.
