NiceHash, a marketplace for Bitcoin (BTC) hashing power, has announced a strategic alliance with Marathon Digital Holdings Inc. This collaboration aims to develop custom firmware for ASIC miners, especially those optimized for the NiceHash mining platform. The outcome of this collaboration is the NiceHash Firmware.
NiceHash and Marathon Digital Partnership
Marathon Digital’s technology is at the heart of the ASIC miners’ custom firmware. The solution is available to all Bitcoin miners. The NiceHash Firmware comes with a range of advanced features that allow miners to increase the efficiency of their ASIC devices and boost their revenue. The firmware is compatible with NiceHash ASIC Manager, Foreman, and Awesome Miner.
Miners using the product will only have to pay a 2% firmware fee, lower than the industry standard. If NiceHash becomes their primary pool, the fee will be further reduced to 1.4%. Other features include innovative auto-tuning and customized environment profiles, making top-tier technology accessible on the open market.
The environment profiles are designed to ease the firmware installation on ASICs running Air, Hydro, and single-phase or Two-Phase Immersion cooling. The auto-tune feature can be adjusted based on certain criteria such as Power Target, Hashrate Target, or Percentage Adjustment. Compared to existing firmware solutions, NiceHash Firmware offers significant efficiency.
The NiceHash Firmware also includes intelligent thermal protection to prevent overheating. A customized dashboard provides an overview of the ASIC’s performance. NiceHash CEO Vladimir Hozjan revealed that his company has been seeking a firmware solution for ASIC miners due to a lack of suitable firmware in its product portfolio.

Marathon Digital was chosen after NiceHash was impressed by their firmware product. Hozjan praised Marathon Digital’s product for its high quality and reliability. NiceHash believes this partnership will enhance its position in the mining industry.
