Ethereum Marks First Golden Cross In 14 Months: What Next?
Ethereum's first Golden Cross in 14 months coincides with rising ETF inflows and renewed accumulation. The next move hinges on $2,800.

Ethereum just flipped a major technical signal for the first time in over a year. The 50-day EMA crossed above the 200-day EMA, forming a Golden Cross. This ends a Death Cross phase that had gripped ETH for nearly ten months.
Whether this technical win can translate into a sustained rally now depends on several converging forces.
Ethereum witnessed its first Golden Cross since July 2025 this week. The 50-day EMA crossed over the 200-day EMA on the daily chart.
This closes out a Death Cross phase that lasted nearly ten months. Golden Crosses are widely viewed as a signal of shifting long-term momentum. Historically, this crossover has preceded extended uptrends for Ethereum in prior cycles.

Despite the bullish signal, ETH remains stuck below a key barrier at $2,775. That level has repeatedly acted as resistance and support in past sessions. A second, more critical barrier sits at $2,800. This zone holds the largest shorts liquidation cluster on the chart.
Roughly $576 million in short positions would be liquidated if ETH clears $2,800. A break above that level could trigger a sharp, forced-buying price spike. Liquidation cascades of this size often accelerate momentum well beyond the initial breakout. That makes $2,800 the single most important level for bulls to watch.

Ethereum's setup extends beyond charts, with investor behavior turning more constructive. Long-term holders are sliding back toward accumulation after a month of offloading. That shift suggests conviction is returning among ETH's most patient, historically profitable cohort. Renewed accumulation from this group has often preceded stronger price stability.

The change in LTH behavior aligns closely with the timing of the Golden Cross. Together, both signals point toward a market quietly turning more optimistic.
ETF flows have also turned decisively positive after a rocky stretch. Ethereum ETFs collectively pulled in $689 million over the past four days alone.
That marks a sharp reversal from the outflows seen in prior weeks. Strong institutional demand adds a second layer of support beneath current price levels.

Combined retail and institutional demand could help ETH shake off lingering bearish pressure. Sustained inflows would also reinforce the bullish case building around the Golden Cross.
If flows continue at this pace, they could meaningfully offset overhead resistance near $2,800. That combination of technical and flow-based tailwinds rarely aligns this cleanly.
Beyond near-term price action, Vitalik Buterin outlined a longer-term vision for the network. He said the 2027 Hegotá upgrade could be Ethereum's last "normal" fork.
After that, Buterin expects the network to evolve into a cryptographic world computer. That vision centers on ZK proofs, quantum resistance, and built-in privacy features.
By 2030, Buterin expects transaction finality to fall to roughly eight seconds. That is a dramatic improvement from around 16 minutes at the moment.
Ethereum now sits at the intersection of a bullish technical signal and improving fundamentals. The Golden Cross, LTH accumulation, and ETF inflows all point in the same direction.
Longer term, Buterin's roadmap gives investors a reason to look well beyond short-term price swings. How Ethereum balances these near-term technical battles with its multi-year evolution will define the road ahead.
