Quant’s founder sold nearly $7 million in QNT as the token surged past $300, while rising demand keeps the rally in focus.

Quant's founder Gilbert Verdian has started booking profits from a long-held QNT stash as the altcoin surges past $300. The wallet sold nearly $7 million worth of QNT over the last 48 hours. The sale landed just as QNT jumped 34% within a single day.
On-chain data confirms the wallet still holds over $160 million worth of QNT after the sell-off. Whether the rally survives this distribution now depends on demand, liquidity, and several key price levels.
The Quant founder chose to take profits after seven years of holding his QNT. His wallet contains more than $160 million worth of the token. Nearly $7 million worth of QNT left the wallet during the last 48 hours.
The HODLer net position change metric backs up this observation. This indicator tracks the movement of old coins across the network. A sharp drop in the metric shows years-old QNT was sold today.
Old coins changing hands matter because they represent conviction built over multiple market cycles. When such holders sell, traders usually watch closely for signs of wider distribution.

So far, the market has absorbed the selling without losing momentum.
This reaction followed a sharp run for QNT over the last few days. The altcoin rose 34% in the last 24 hours and crossed the $300 mark. It now approaches the $375 mark, followed by $400.

The rally continues even with the founder selling into strength. The Chaikin Money Flow (CMF) indicator shows institutional investors are still moving money into the asset.
The uptick in CMF signals fresh inflows, which support the ongoing rally. Strong inflows suggest buyers are absorbing the supply coming from Verdian’s wallet. As long as that demand persists, bulls keep control of the trend.

A move to $375 would extend the gains further from the breakout level. Clearing it would open the path toward $400, a major psychological barrier. Momentum traders may view that level as the next big test for the rally.
Additionally, a massive surge in new holders could help QNT keep growing. New addresses recorded a 1,858% increase over the past week, rising from 205 to 4,014. At the peak, the count reached 8,100, marking a 3,852% rise.
Rising address counts often point to growing retail participation alongside institutional flows. Together, these two groups create a strong demand base for the altcoin.

The spike in addresses shows how quickly attention shifted toward QNT. More participants entering the network can deepen demand and offset selling pressure from large holders.
For now, QNT holders have two crucial levels to watch. The first is $286, where $12.84 million worth of long liquidations sit.
A drop to this level could trigger forced selling among leveraged buyers.

The second zone lies between $315 and $321. Here, $8 million and $11 million worth of short liquidations sit, respectively. A push into this zone could force short sellers to close positions, fueling upside momentum.
Crossing either of these levels could send QNT moving sharply in that direction.
The founder’s sale adds a cautionary note to an otherwise powerful rally. Yet inflows and new holders suggest buyers remain in control for now.
A decisive move above $321 would strengthen the bullish case considerably. It could also trigger a cascade of short liquidations, pushing the price toward higher targets.
