Quick Take:
- A Trump Media-linked wallet sent 4,259 BTC, about $342 million, to Crypto.com at 02:17 UTC on 5 November after three months of inactivity, according to Arkham data.
- That takes the company's 2026 transfers to the exchange to roughly 9,540 BTC, worth about $714 million at the time of each move, according to Coin Bureau.
- The coins left addresses labelled as collateral for Trump Media's 2028 convertible notes; a 2 November filing says holders can demand repayment of about $1 billion on 30 November.
- Trump Media shares closed at a record low of $4.49 on 4 November, giving the company a $1.25 billion market cap, close to the value of its Bitcoin.
Trump Media's Bitcoin is on the move again, and this time the timing is hard to ignore. A wallet linked to the Truth Social parent transferred 4,259 BTC, worth about $342 million, to Crypto.com at 02:17 UTC on 5 November, according to blockchain data from Arkham. The wallet had been dormant for three months. Bitcoin price traded at $79,620 at 14:00 UTC on 5 November, up 1.8% in 24 hours, according to recent data from CoinGecko.
The transfer landed on the same morning Trump Media's stock closed at an all-time low and a day after US midterm results handed Congress to the Democrats. So, is Trump Media dumping Bitcoin? The honest answer is that the chain cannot tell you, but the company's own filings explain why people are asking.
What Moved, and From Where
The 4,259 BTC went out in two transactions, 2,140 BTC and 2,119 BTC, from addresses Arkham labels "2028 Convertible Notes Collateral" to a single Crypto.com address. Multiple analysts flagged the move on X, putting the value at $343.67 million at the time of transfer.
It is the third such move this year. Trump Media sent about 2,650 BTC, around $205 million, to Crypto.com in May, and about 2,628 BTC, around $165 million, in early August. "That brings its total transfers to the exchange in 2026 to roughly 9,540 BTC, valued at $713.68 MILLION at the time of transfer."
Both earlier transfers came with denials. A spokesperson described the May move as part of a broader trading strategy, not a sale. The company called the August move custody management. Crypto.com has been one of Trump Media's custody partners since it started buying Bitcoin in 2025, so coins arriving there are not, on their own, evidence of a sale. The company had not commented on Wednesday's transfer by publication.
The $1 Billion Reason People Are Asking
The wallet label is the detail that matters. Trump Media raised about $1 billion through convertible notes due in 2028 and pledged Bitcoin against them. Its second-quarter filing showed 4,260.73 BTC pledged as collateral as of 30 June, almost exactly the amount that moved on Wednesday.
A securities filing on 2 November says eligible noteholders can exercise a repurchase right on 30 November. If every holder does, the company could owe roughly $1 billion. The same filing warned that Trump Media may need to sell Bitcoin or other digital assets if refinancing and other measures fall short.
That is the reading on-chain analysts are weighing. Moving collateral coins to an exchange three weeks before a repayment window is consistent with preparing to sell. It is also consistent with repositioning collateral, or with the custody shuffles the company cited twice before. One tracker, EyeOnChain, cautioned on X that an exchange transfer does not automatically mean the Bitcoin is being sold.
A Company Worth About as Much as Its Bitcoin
Trump Media reported holding about 14,139 BTC as of 31 July, including pledged coins. At $79,620, that stack is worth about $1.13 billion. Trump Media's shares closed at $4.49 on 4 November, a record low, for a market cap of $1.25 billion, according to Google Finance. In other words, the market values the whole company at barely more than its Bitcoin.
The stock has had a bad week for reasons beyond crypto. The New York Times reported the record low followed the midterm results, and Trump-linked tokens fell alongside it: TRUMP dropped 19% in 24 hours to $1.25, according to Coin Bureau, 98% below its January 2025 high.
What to Watch
Three things settle this. First, whether the 4,259 BTC stays on Crypto.com or returns to a labelled Trump Media address, which Arkham's entity page will show. Second, whether Trump Media files an 8-K before 30 November describing a refinancing, a sale, or both. Third, the note repurchase window itself.
For Bitcoin price, 4,259 BTC is about 12% of CoinGecko's $35 billion daily volume and would be absorbed if sold over days. The signal matters more than the size. In the bullish scenario, the company refinances, the coins go back to cold storage, and BTC holds the $80,000 it reclaimed this week. That said, in a bearish scenario, a confirmed sale by one of the most visible corporate holders lands in the same month as the Binance hack's unwinding, and the $77,140 level that held through October gets tested with a headline attached.
