XRP whale inflows to Binance averaged $112.4 million a month, the highest since March, as large holders took profit on a 30% rebound. XRP price now sits at $1.33.

XRP price retreated considerably from its autumn rally. The token traded at $1.33 at 11:15 UTC on 22 October 2026, as per recent data from CoinGecko, down about 2% in 24 hours and 13.8% over 30 days, with a market cap of $83.8 billion. The broader market offered no help: total crypto market cap slipped 1.9% to $2.84 trillion over the same day, with Bitcoin consolidating near $81,500.
So who sold XRP into the rally that took it from near $1 in August to above $1.55 in September? On-chain data points to the largest holders, and the numbers are big enough to explain a good part of the pullback.
CryptoQuant discusses XRP whale transactions above 1 million XRP, worth roughly $1.3 million at the time of writing. As per data shared by CryptoQuant analyst Darkfost, the 30-day average of whale inflows to Binance climbed to $112.4 million, its highest level since March. That is a $72 million increase since August and well above the roughly $90 million average of the previous three months.
The daily figures are more dramatic than the average. One day in late August saw more than $415 million arrive at Binance from whale wallets, the largest spike on the chart. Late September brought another cluster of about $240 million, and early October a smaller $150 million burst.
Inflows to an exchange are the step before a sale, not a sale itself. Still, the timing is hard to read any other way. The spikes line up with XRP's rebound of more than 30% from the August low, which is when a holder sitting on size would want liquidity.
The latest reading is less alarming than the peak. Daily inflows have returned to what Darkfost calls more typical levels, and the September high was well below the August one. In plain terms, the whales who wanted to sell into $1.50 have largely done so.
That shows in the chart's shape. The 30-day average turned down in mid-October after peaking near $115 million, and the most recent daily print sat at $80.2 million, inside the range that held through spring and summer.
However, the analyst's caveat is worth repeating: the situation can change quickly with price. A move back toward $1.50 would put the same holders back in profit-taking territory, and the amounts they can move make Binance inflows a metric worth checking before any position.
XRP's recent low sits near $1.30, a level tested in the second week of October. The rally's ceiling sits between $1.50 and $1.57, where the token stalled in both September and early October, and where the whale selling was heaviest.
Prediction markets lean toward the range holding. Polymarket traders gave XRP a 52.6% chance of touching $1.40 before the end of October and a 9.5% chance of $1.60, according to odds displayed by CoinGecko on 22 October. On the downside, they priced a 28.5% chance of $1.20.
In the bullish scenario, whale inflows stay quiet, and XRP price reclaims $1.40, opening a retest of the $1.50 zone. The test of that move will be the inflow chart: if deposits spike again at $1.50, the sellers are back.
That said, in a bearish scenario, a loss of $1.30 with the broader market still soft brings $1.20 into play, the level Polymarket traders see as the next likely stop. Either way, the whale inflow chart has done a better job of flagging XRP turns this year than the price chart alone.
