Bitcoin Price Sets Up for Pullback in Coming Weeks?
Bitcoin is stuck under a level that rejected it in May. Fresh ETF inflows give bulls some hope, but the chart points to $78,298 if $82,200 turns into resistance.
Bitcoin is stuck under a level that rejected it in May. Fresh ETF inflows give bulls some hope, but the chart points to $78,298 if $82,200 turns into resistance.

Bitcoin price slipped back under a price level that traders have watched closely for most of 2026. The weekly close below $82,200 put the market on alert, and some analysts now think BTC could fall lower.
At the same time, money is flowing back into spot Bitcoin ETFs, which gives bulls something to hold on to. Here is what the charts and the flow data say about the weeks ahead.
Crypto analyst Rekt Capital wrote in the latest newsletter that Bitcoin has weekly closed below roughly $82,200. According to the analyst, that sets the price up for a bearish retest of the level, where old support turns into new resistance.
The only way to cancel that setup in the short term would be for BTC to reclaim $82,200 on lower timeframes through daily closes. Until that happens, Rekt Capital called the current positioning bearish for price.
The $82,200 level has a long history in this cycle. It caused a major rejection back in May 2026, and it has also served as a springboard for upside continuation at other points.
The weekly chart now shows the asset sitting just under this upper level. This could move BTC to a rejection that could push it back into the lower range.
As per SoSoValue data, Bitcoin ETFs brought in $526.60 million in net inflows on October 19. That single Monday session makes up the entire weekly total so far, and it lifted cumulative net inflows to $57.40 billion.
The timing stands out. The two weeks before were rough for these funds. The week ending October 9 saw $681.10 million in net outflows, and the week ending October 16 added another $228.58 million in outflows.

Daily figures were choppy too, with a $261.46 million outflow on October 14 coming right after a $175.62 million inflow on October 13.
A half-billion-dollar day after that stretch suggests institutional buyers are stepping back in at these prices. Still, one strong session does not make a trend.
If $82,200 does turn into resistance, Rekt Capital’s chart points to $78,298 as the next major level. This is the floor of the range between the two blue horizontal lines on the weekly chart, and BTC spent time in this same range during the messy retests of early 2025.

The analyst describes $78,298 as a reaction zone. In early 2025, it acted as the base for a trend reversal during the bull market. In late April 2026, it fueled a bearish relief rally.
In May 2026, the price rallied from this lower level into the $82,200 ceiling, got rejected, and fell back to retest $78,298 before continuing lower. Rekt Capital adds that downside wicks and brief deviations below the level are common and that they can be part of a bullish process when buyers step in.
At around $81,900 on October 20, Bitcoin sat only a few hundred dollars below the $82,200 to $82,400 resistance zone. That makes the next few weekly closes worth watching. The bearish path could be if BTC fails to reclaim $82,200 to $82,400 and heads toward $78,298.
If that floor breaks with conviction, the next move could be roughly $74,700. The bullish path is if Bitcoin reclaims the zone with daily closes first and then holds above it on the weekly timeframe.
That would weaken the case for a pullback and put the recent high near $87,000 back in play. BTC price has already bounced from the $60,000 to $65,000 region earlier this year, so buyers have shown they are willing to defend lower prices.
