BlockInsider Crypto ETF Flows: Why BTC, ETH ETFs are Failing to Perform
Bitcoin ETFs gave back roughly $390 million over five sessions, with selling on four of them and only a small green day on August 11. Ethereum held near flat.
Crypto ETFs finished the week deep in the red, led by about $389.71 million in Bitcoin fund outflows.
Bitcoin ETFs bled on four of five days. The only green session was August 11 at +$4.89 million.
Ethereum ETFs held near flat for the week at -$2.26 million, saved by two small inflow days midweek.
Crypto ETFs spent the week of August 10–14 mostly in red. Bitcoin funds lost close to $389.71 million across the five sessions.
Ethereum ETFs performed better and finished almost flat at -$2.26 million. No single day accounted for the damage. Here is how each day played out.
August 10: Bitcoin ETFs Reverse Course With Heavy Outflows
Bitcoin ETFs opened the week with a $144.67 million net outflow and were the biggest single-day exit of the five sessions. The move came right after a week that pulled in more than $850 million.
BlackRock's IBIT and Grayscale's GBTC carried most of the redemptions. Bitcoin itself barely moved, trading in a tight range near $64,800 to $65,000 and closing roughly where it started. Ethereum funds lost about $14.59 million, their weakest reading of the week.

August 11: Crypto ETF Flows Turn Mixed
Crypto ETFs split on Tuesday. Bitcoin funds flipped positive with a small $4.89 million net inflow, the only green day of the week. Buying went into Grayscale's cheaper mini trust while the larger funds kept bleeding.
Ethereum went the other way. ETH spot funds lost about $1.76 million, with BlackRock's ETHA leading the redemptions. Bitcoin eased toward the $64,000 area, down more than a percent on the day. Ethereum also traded in the low $1,900s.
August 12: Bitcoin and Ethereum ETFs Extend Their Outflow Streak
Midweek inflation data landed close to expectations and didn't help the ETFs. Bitcoin ETFs slid back into the red with a $61.16 million net outflow, this time led by Fidelity's FBTC ahead of BlackRock's IBIT.
Ethereum ETFs actually moved up and added about $7.38 million. Prices stayed quiet, with Bitcoin holding near $63,700 and Ether stuck in its recent range.

August 13: ETF Selling Intensifies Across the Crypto Market
The pressure on Bitcoin ETFs picked up on Wednesday. Outflows more than doubled to $131.13 million, the second-largest single-day exit of the week.
Ethereum ETFs added about $6.72 million and XRP funds pulled in roughly $2.25 million, so part of the week's story was money rotating out of Bitcoin rather than leaving crypto. Bitcoin closed near $63,400, little changed on the day.
August 14: Crypto ETFs Close the Week With Another Day of Outflows
Crypto ETFs ended the week the way they spent most of it. Bitcoin funds logged a final $57.63 million net outflow. This stretched the Bitcoin drawdown to a second straight session and roughly $189 million over the two days.
Ethereum funds recorded no net change at all, a flat $0.00, which at least kept ETH out of the red. With Bitcoin boxed in between $63K and $64K and no fresh catalyst in sight, traders reduced exposure. For crypto ETFs as a whole, it was a quiet, downbeat finish.
Interestingly, XRP ETFs recorded zero net inflow and outflow during this period except on August 13, when it recorded $2.25 million. Solana ETFs also recorded zero moves from August 12 to 14. However, there were single-digit inflows on August 10 and 11.
Ethereum's near-flat week suggests some of that Bitcoin money went to other crypto products rather than exiting the market altogether.
The week's pattern shows that crypto ETFs watched the prior week's strong inflows close through profit-taking. It was also accompanied by fee-driven rotation between the big funds and their cheaper mini trusts and an inline CPI report that handed Bitcoin no reason to push past resistance.
