Bitcoin leads ETF flows, Ethereum gains ground and HYPE steals attention as concentrated capital reshapes the crypto ETF landscape.

Crypto ETFs just posted a week of striking inflows and shifting momentum. Bitcoin dominated overall, but Ethereum quietly closed the gap fast. A single day this week even saw ETH nearly match Bitcoin's inflows.
Meanwhile, HYPE stunned everyone with an unexpected surge of its own. Here is BlockInsider’s take on everything that moved crypto ETF markets this week.
Crypto ETFs recorded $2.70 billion in inflows across August 21 to 27. Bitcoin alone dominated this figure, accounting for $1.92 billion of the total. Ethereum's inflows stood at roughly one-third of Bitcoin's weekly figure.

That gap, however, appears to be narrowing sharply over the past day. ETH ETFs registered around $234 million in fresh daily inflows. Bitcoin's daily inflows stood close by at $242 million.

This narrowing suggests investor sentiment may be gradually shifting toward Ethereum. The daily numbers hint at a closer contest than the weekly totals suggest.
Whether this trend holds could reshape ETF flows going forward.
Bitcoin recorded $242 million in inflows over the last 24 hours. Of this, BlackRock's IBIT alone accounted for $277 million in inflows. This means IBIT single-handedly outpaced Bitcoin's total net inflow figure.
Funds like Valkyrie, Franklin, Invesco, and WisdomTree failed to record any inflows. None of these four funds saw meaningful investor activity during the period.
This points to a stark concentration around a single dominant fund.

The more interesting story came from Fidelity and Grayscale's GBTC fund. Both recorded outflows rather than inflows over the same 24-hour window. GBTC saw $27 million leave the fund entirely.
Fidelity's FBTC fared even worse, posting nearly three times that outflow figure. FBTC recorded $83.6 million in outflows during the same period. This imbalance raises real concerns about the ETF market's health.
Such a development can lead to a fund monopoly. It also signals declining investor optionality across the broader Bitcoin ETF landscape.
Right now, only BlackRock appears to command consistent investor confidence.
HYPE emerged as this week's standout altcoin story, but with a twist. The surprise wasn't the week overall, but the last 24 hours specifically.
For the week starting August 21, HYPE ETFs saw inflows of $3.89 million. That figure alone wasn't particularly remarkable compared to other altcoin ETF flows. However, the same funds noted $24.4 million entering within just one day.
Much like Bitcoin's IBIT concentration, HYPE inflows leaned heavily toward one fund. Of the $24.4 million, $23.2 million was concentrated in Bitwise alone.

21Shares and Grayscale both lost out significantly during this same window.
This surge arrives at a particularly notable moment for HYPE's price action. HYPE has been forming fresh all-time highs throughout the past week.
The most recent all-time high came within just the last 24 hours. HYPE reached $86.8, marking its highest price point on record so far.

This price action appears closely tied to the sudden ETF inflow spike. Investors seem to be chasing momentum as HYPE continues setting new highs.
Taken together, this week paints a picture of concentrated, momentum-driven capital flows. Bitcoin remains the largest ETF category, but Ethereum is closing the daily gap.
Whether Ethereum sustains its narrowing gap with Bitcoin remains the key question ahead. Fund concentration around single players like BlackRock and Bitwise also deserves close watching.
The coming week could reveal whether these shifts represent lasting trends or short-lived spikes across major crypto ETF products.
