Key Insights

  • Bitway surged 67.1%, becoming the biggest gainer among the top 100 cryptocurrencies this week.
  • WLFI, Chainlink, OKB, and Worldcoin are among this week’s top-gaining coins.
  • Uniswap, Cardano, Pepe, Bitcoin Cash, and Zcash also posted weekly losses.

The crypto market remained under pressure this week, but the top 100 coins saw sharp moves in both directions. Bitway (BTW) surged 67.1%, making it the biggest gainer, while Uniswap (UNI) dropped 17.2%, leading the losers.

BlockInsider breaks down the week’s biggest gainers and losers, showing which tokens jumped, which ones fell, and what drove their price moves.

Top Crypto Gainers of the Week

Bitway (BTW) Jumps 67.1%

Bitway (BTW) was the biggest gainer among the top 100 coins this week. The token climbed 67.1% in seven days, rising from around $0.1971 to $0.3339.

The rally came as Bitway launched an incentive program running from August 1 to September 1, 2026. Users can earn an 8% base APR plus a 4% bonus in BW Points through Bitway Earn vaults. Core Alpha users also get zero-fee “Flash Unstaking.”

The strong rally also pushed BTW into CoinMarketCap’s top 100 cryptocurrencies.

World Liberty Financial (WLFI) Gains 19.4%

World Liberty Financial (WLFI) gained 19.4%, rising from about $0.0515 to $0.06152. The token added nearly $0.01 over the week.

The main boost came after the U.S. Office of the Comptroller of the Currency conditionally approved World Liberty Financial’s national trust bank charter. The approval could allow the company to issue, custody, and manage reserves for its $4 billion USD1 stablecoin.

Chainlink (LINK) Rises 12.6%

Chainlink (LINK) has jumped over 12.6% this week, pushing past its $9.04 resistance level to trade around $9.45. The move came as Chainlink received fresh attention from the traditional finance sector.

On August 11, 2026, Standard Chartered predicted that Chainlink could reach $200 by 2030.

The bullish outlook, along with whale buying and growing use of Chainlink’s blockchain infrastructure, helped support the token’s recent rally.

OKB Adds 11.5%

Another top gainer of this week is the OKB native token of OKX cryptocurrency exchange. OKB token surged over 11.5% this week and moved above $104.91 after breaking out of its recent trading range.

OKB’s rise was supported by growing demand for the token as the native gas token of OKX’s X Layer network. The token also broke above the $90–$92 range on strong trading volume, showing stronger buying pressure.

Worldcoin (WLD) Gains 11.4%

Worldcoin (WLD) has gained 11.4% this week, trading around $0.34, as it rides a wave of growing interest in AI-driven digital identity.

The market reacted favorably to reports confirming that institutional entity Eightco Holdings holds roughly 8% of the WLD supply. A subsequent $1 million liquidity cluster helped push the WLD over major resistance blocks.

WLD also received a new spot listing on SolCex Exchange on August 14, adding another trading venue for the token.

Top Crypto Losers of the Week

Uniswap (UNI) Drops 17.2%

Uniswap (UNI) was the biggest loser among the top 100 coins, falling 17.2% from around $4.01 to $3.31.

The decline came as large holders appeared to reduce their positions. One whale reportedly sold 400,000 UNI worth more than $3.2 million, adding to selling pressure.

Cardano (ADA) falls 10.4%

Next, we’ve Cardano (ADA) dropping 10.4%, falling from about $0.1972 to $0.1767. The price of Cardano (ADA) is dropping primarily due to institutional setbacks, including Grayscale pulling its ETF plans.

Along with this whale profit taking, an 899% leverage liquidation imbalance hurt market sentiment around ADA. The combination pushed ADA below the $0.18 level and kept buyers cautious.

Pepe (PEPE) Slips 9.1%

Pepe (PEPE) has slipped 9.1% this week, breaking below major short term support lines to trade around $0.0000026. The meme coin was hit by weaker demand for high risk crypto assets as investors became more cautious.

Meanwhile, PEPE’s multi day chart officially flipped heavily bearish, with over 91% of technical indicators flashing sell signals.

Bitcoin Cash (BCH) Drops 5.9%

Further in the losers list we’ve Bitcoin Cash (BCH), which dropped 5.9% this week, to trade around $204.29. The lack of bullish momentum forced a market wide correction, hitting large cap utility forks like BCH particularly hard.BCH also failed to hold its earlier $255 high, with stronger selling pushing the token below an important support level on August 14.

Zcash (ZEC) Loses 5.8%

Zcash (ZEC) price has dropped 5.8% this week, pulling back from its consolidation range to trade around $492.79.

The decline came as the broader crypto market moved lower. ZEC also pulled back from its recent consolidation range as selling pressure increased across digital assets.

What to Expect this Week?

The split this week was about narratives, not sectors or coins. The gainers each had a live story: a yield program, a bank charter, a bulge-bracket price target, an exchange token with real gas demand.

The losers had none, and in a market with Bitcoin below $63,000 and ETF outflows continuing, no story means no bid.

Next week's list will test whether the narrative trade holds: Bitway's program runs to 1 September, World Liberty still has OCC conditions to clear, and LINK now has a $13 year-end marker from Standard Chartered that the market can trade against.
