Oil Climbs to Iran War Price, While Bitcoin Declines to $79,000

Brent crude returned to its war peak of $111.90, yet Bitcoin holds near $81,700 as NASDAQ risks a double-top breakdown ahead of the FOMC meeting.

Brent crude has surged to nearly $117, the highest since May. Oil has climbed over 17% since the start of October, renewing worries about global fuel costs. Bitcoin, however, has barely reacted and holds steady near $81,700.
NASDAQ looks vulnerable as a seven-month double top threatens to break down near 26,020.
Brent crude climbed over 17% since the start of the month to reach $117 today. That price matches the peak oil hit when the US-Iran War was at its hottest point.
The climb began slowly through August and September. October's gains alone were more than double the combined move of those two months. As a result, concern is spreading worldwide as fuel prices continue to surge.

Higher crude prices rarely stay confined to energy markets alone. They raise transport and production costs, which can feed into consumer inflation.
The $117 level now stands as a key reference point. It exceeds the peak oil reached at the height of the conflict. A hold above it would keep pressure on global fuel costs.
Bitcoin has also seen the negative impact from the surge in oil. Since mid-September, BTC has dropped to $79,436.75, declining 2.5% in 24 hours.
This came after has the cryp king saw steady level. It has also formed the third base of a parabolic curve structure. That structure has been building for nearly four months.
The breakout therefore remains awaited above $86,663. Until then, the range continues to define the trade.

The consolidation shows that buyers are defending the lower edge near $81,200. Sellers, meanwhile, have capped rallies near $86,663. Neither side has gained control since mid-September.
A close below $81,200 would break the range to the downside. That would put the parabolic structure at risk. Still, the current price action shows no sign of that happening.
NASDAQ appears to be in a tough spot. The index has formed a double top over the past seven months. That macro structure sits on the verge of breaking down, with the index at 26,020.
Confirmation would come from a slide below 24,800. That would raise reasonable concern about a drop toward 23,400. The double top marks that level as its target.

A double top is a bearish reversal pattern. It forms when price fails twice at similar highs. The index has now tested that zone twice in seven months.
The 24,800 trigger sits roughly 4.7% below the current level. The 23,400 target lies about 10% lower.
Next week is significantly crucial for markets, as it is CPI week. The FOMC will then meet on October 27 and 28. Its decision on the target rate will shape sentiment.
Current estimates show an 89.5% chance of no change in the target rate. Meanwhile, 10.5% of participants still expect a hike. The FOMC hinted earlier this year at more hikes before the end of 2026.

The probabilities leave little room for a surprise. Still, higher oil adds uncertainty to the inflation outlook. A hot CPI reading could therefore shift expectations quickly.
Oil, Bitcoin and NASDAQ now share one catalyst. The FOMC decision will test each of them within days. Oil at $111.90 reflects geopolitical stress. Bitcoin at $81,700 reflects calm inside.
