SOL Price Gets Boost as Samsung Adds Solana Stablecoins

Samsung’s latest crypto move is not another token listing. It is putting Solana-powered USDC transfers inside the wallets of 82 million U.S. Galaxy users, while SOL price remains below a key $120 level.

  • SOL price remains below $120 despite Samsung adding Solana stablecoin support.
  • Samsung Wallet will enable USDC transfers across 82 million U.S. Galaxy devices.
  • Solana’s stablecoin volume and network fees highlight growing payments activity.

SOL price entered October 7 with a familiar problem: adoption headlines were improving, but the chart had lost the $120 area.

That same day, the Solana Foundation announced that Samsung Wallet and Samsung Pay will support USDC transfers on Solana, putting the network’s stablecoin infrastructure inside a wallet available across 82 million U.S. Galaxy devices.

The feature is scheduled to launch in the last week of October 2026. The more interesting part is not the device count. It is what Samsung is removing from the experience.

SOL Price Gets an Adoption Signal

Samsung said its stablecoin functionality will initially support USDC. Eligible U.S. Galaxy users will be able to send USDC directly to compatible crypto wallets overseas.

Qualifying bank-account transfers will also be available across more than 60 countries, with recipients receiving the funds in local currency.

Users will not need to install a separate crypto app or manage private keys themselves, Samsung said. Samsung executive Woncheol Chai said,

“We’re bringing USDC transfers into Samsung Wallet so eligible Galaxy users can get started without installing another app.”

Solana’s role sits beneath the user-facing interface. Samsung said Coinbase and Bastion will handle parts of the USDC service, while separate infrastructure partners provide blockchain network support, including Solana and Sui.

The feature is therefore less about adding a crypto button and more about integrating blockchain transfers directly into an existing mobile wallet.

For the SOL price, that creates a new adoption reference point. It does not prove that Samsung users will generate enough activity to move the token.

The Solana Foundation is already pointing to larger stablecoin flows on the network. It said stablecoin supply on Solana had risen nearly 20% year over year, while the network processed more than $5.25 trillion in stablecoin volume during 2026 alone.

Solana Price Is Still Caught Between $114 and $120

That caution is visible in recent market data. Ali Charts said on October 7 that Solana was trading near $117.25 after losing the $120 level.

His setup placed $114 as the first downside level, with $110 becoming relevant if that support failed decisively. Reclaiming $120 would weaken that bearish setup.

The market looked firmer only days earlier. Block Insider reported on October 6 that SOL had hovered around $120, with a recent weekly high near $123.55 and a low around $116.75. The analysis identified 128-132 as the next resistance zone and kept $150 in focus.

That leaves the SOL price in an awkward position. Samsung has added a sizeable distribution channel, but the token still faces established technical levels.

Solana Is Building Demand Beyond the Wallet

The Samsung announcement fits a broader push by Solana into payments and financial infrastructure.

Block Insider reported on October 6 that the Solana Foundation had introduced Solana DvP, an open-source settlement tool designed to combine tokenized assets and payments in a single atomic transaction.

The project was informed partly by suggestions from J.P. Morgan and is aimed at institutional settlement rather than retail crypto trading.

Network activity has also been rising. Block Insider cited DeFiLlama data showing application fees climbing from $639 million in the second quarter to $948 million in the third, an increase of 48%.

The outlet cautioned that higher application fees demonstrate greater economic activity on the network but do not directly translate into value captured by SOL holders.

Solana is also approaching Alpenglow deployment. Block Insider reported that the upgrade targets a nearly 99% reduction in finality time and is scheduled for deployment through Agave 4.3 in October. The cited technical report says the change will not alter transaction execution or fees.
